Form poems sometimes help focus my thoughts. I like the constraints bc it limits the choices. I always do better with limited choices 😂 isn't the word abecedarian itself just fantastic? 😁
What a fun abecedarian! I love the word xeric, by the way.
I tried to write one but didn’t get past L.
Our family loves camping. All our kids are scouts and we do family camping in the summer too. Though I feel I’m starting to get too old to sleep on the ground.
Xeric sounds so cool doesn't it? Thanks so much for reading and commenting ✨
Full disclosure: we camp in a caravan (in Australia we still call that camping... Maybe not in the US? 😅). Tenting is much harder work! I hear you about sleeping on the ground. Our caravan bed is lovely 😅. Love that you still do it though!
Oh we’d call being in a caravan camping as well. Or, rather there’s a strong debate in which purists will say that’s not “real” camping; but I think anything that gets you out in nature should count. Anyway my husband would love to get one— his family always had one in Maine when he was a kid. And my brother in law has a huge luxury camper. But I grew up tent camping in the Rockies with my dad.
Yeah it was so fun! I love having some constraints to work with, helps me keep focused on what I'm trying to write. Definitely try it and let me know when you do! I'd love to read it 😊 thanks Megan 💛
Oh, to answer your question--I have a hard time with camping. I keep telling the kids I will try it again (for a few years, I would just stay home with the baby, or the dog). This is my year to try again.
What a lovely poem! I grew up camping with my cousins and now that my family is all grown up, we go camping and all the littles love it just like we did. This was such a joyfilled read. Camping memories are my best ones.
Love the photos and the fact you are trying more form poems!! I've never even heard of an abecedarian. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is how I feel about form! It's so helpful. Although I think if I had started there it would have terrified me.
I love the three days packing and little Isaac refusing to nap! Can't wait to add it to our collection!
Real life right here! 😂 I'm honoured!!
This is so fun!! Love it!
Thanks Stacy 💛

Ah good. No purists in our house 😂 i totally agree! You're still half living outside 😉
I will have to try this format! I love it!! And your photos are gorgeous <3

Oh my goodness. I love this poem, and I love the photos (I'm really scared of spiders but I wouldn't have been able to resist that one either).
Thanks Margaret and thanks for the inspiration! I realize now it's even more of a copy of yours bc you did the 24hrs first!
Not a copy! Your words are deliciously your own. And I think a lot of poems tend to look closely at one day.

It's not for everyone. My dad doesn't love it either and we didn't do it much as kids. There are other lovely ways to have holidays too!
Definitely. Thank you for saying that. I feel sad/insecure sometimes that I don’t seem to have the camping gene.
We are all different! 💛

Ah such fun times you must've had! Thanks for reading and commenting and restacking! I'm honoured!
